Gerald Colds was born in Harlem, NY and at the early age of eight developed a love for the game of basketball. Inspired by his father’s passion and dedication to his success, Colds spent countless hours during hot summer mornings shooting as many as 1,000 shots per day.
Colds attended St Raymond's High School from 2003 - 2007, notably one of the city’s most prominent teams during this time. In his three year varsity career at St. Raymond’s, Colds was recognized and voted “All City” by the Daily News during his junior and senior year, and also scored over 1,000 points during his three year career.
Colds was accepted to Drexel University a Division 1 school located in Philadelphia, where he majored in Psychology. In his four years at Drexel he managed to score over 1,000 points, which to this very day is a huge accomplishment by any player at the Division one level.
While being a great college player would suffice for some, Colds took his first coaching opportunity by applying the knowledge and experience playing at the Division 1 level and shared it with the youth athletes attending Drexel Summer Camps each summer.
After college Colds had stints playing professionally in America for both Semi Pro and D League teams but also had the opportunity to play in Canada. Today, in between playing and working on his game he finds time to help youth and pro athletes master there craft.
Colds worked for Fastbreak for two years and served as a Head Coach and top 1 on 1 Trainer. He also worked as a pro trainer for Pro Hoops, preparing college athletes entering the draft and high school prospects entering top colleges and universities all over the country. Colds brings not only experience but character and charisma, he has a great relationship with everyone he encounters and wants each kid to succeed on and off the court.
